Detailed Information: PORTABLE GAS DETECTOR
| A
gas explosion can be a terrible tragedy for a homeowner or business
owner, often resulting in large-scale property damage and even lost
lives. This type of tragedy happens more often then you think. A
homeowner installs a new water heater or replaces the propane tank on their
grill and doesn't take the time to check for possible gas leaks before
lighting the pilot light. This type of tragedy could have easily been
prevented had they simply checked for gas leaks.
However, before now you either had to own an expensive unit which needed professional recalibration to work correctly or a simpler method was to fill a cup with water and dish soap and pour the solution onto the gas pipes and then visually inspect the entire pipe for bubbles to form from the escaping gas. This could prove difficult if not impossible to make sure that you poured enough solution over the entire pipe, not to mention being able to visually see the entire pipe especially in tight or cramped areas where being able to see the backside of the pipe is impossible.

| Those difficulties are a thing of the past with the Portable Gas Detector. The Portable Gas Detector is an easy-to-use, handheld device that identifies potentially hazardous leaks and unlike other models the Portable Gas Detector does not cost hundreds of dollars nor does it require calibration to work correctly. | |||||
| With the Portable Gas Detector you'll detect potentially dangerous gas leaks from propane, butane, acetylene, methane or natural gas. Lightweight, pocket-sized this leak detector that sounds an audible alarm as well as a visual alarm when it detects a leak. The visual alarm is a three stage LED indicator that activates when propane, butane, acetylene or natural gas (methane) is detected at levels greater than 5% of the LEL (lower explosive limit). This compact gas detector can be used in checking gas leaks in pipes, fittings, valves, gas storage tanks, propane barbecue grills, home appliances, stoves, fireplaces, hot water heaters … any place there could be a gas leak. | |||||
