Speedminton Description

With high-tech racquets and a patented birdie called Speeder®, this new kind of high-octane badminton requires no net and no court. Speedminton® is an irresistibly fun family game — and a vigorous competitive sport — that combines the most exciting dimensions of tennis, squash, badminton and racquetball into something that can be played and enjoyed right away by anyone...young or old, skilled or beginner.

Wherever there's space, indoors or out — a gym, tennis or basketball court, park, backyard or beach — you've got a place to play! The key to net-free Speedminton is the Speeder — a unique shuttlecock designed to fly fast and straight, then brake slightly at the end of its flight to tee itself up for a return volley. There are rules (made to be broken) and scoring that is somewhat like volleyball's.

Those new to Speedminton find it easy to learn. Competitive players enjoy the complexity involved in its mastery. Three different Speeders allow for different types of play. Fun Speeder can be used by beginners or for recreational volleys on the beach or in a park. Match Speeder is for fast and competitive play. Night Speeder is modified so that a Speedlight can be inserted at the base. A Speedlight glows for up to 3 hours of after dusk play. This type of play, called Blackminton, can be seen in parks in Berlin and across Europe.

An Easy Court comes with the Speedminton set so competitive play can be set up anywhere. Today, only the cone-shaped appearance of the Speeder is reminiscent of badminton, as the Speedminton has taken on its own identity.
