Christian Riese Lassen^© - Hawaii's Master Artist of the Sea. Raised on the Island of Maui, Christian Lassen has translated his love of the ocean into some of the most beautiful and popular works of art the world has ever known. Collected by a host of famous art lovers and commissioned by such institutions as the United Nations and the Walt Disney Company, this young painter/artist is one of the best selling artists in history, with a tremendous following in both American and International markets.

(left side) From the Peanuts Collection series are two collectables having to do with hitting the open road. First comes Joe Cool, tooling down the highway on his motorcycle, without a care in world. Also tagging along with Joe during his ride on the open road, sitting on the back, is his favorite riding buddy Woodstock. Both are decked out in their favorite riding gear with the wind blowing back his.......ears. A very unique item, perfect for anyone who likes to ride or is a collector of Joe Cool (Snoopy) memorabilia. Very detailed piece, measures 5½" L x 1¾" W x 3½" H.

(right side) Also from the Peanuts Collection, the Peanuts gang go for a drive in their convertible VW. Charlie Brown, Peppermint Patti, Linus, Pigpen and Snoopy are On The Road Again with Woodstock bouncing along on the antenna. Another finely detailed piece which any fan is sure to enjoy. Measures, 4½" L x 3¼" W x 4" H

(left side) This detailed musical figure shows Peppermint Patty, Linus, Sally, Snoopy, Lucy and Charlie Brown hanging out on the school steps. This is a beautiful musical figure that plays the tune "School Days". Figure stands about 4.25" to the top of Patty's head and weighs 2 lbs.. Figure has rubber feet to keep it from sliding and to protect your shelf. This detailed figure includes Sally reading a book, while Snoopy prepares to eat a bagged lunch and Lucy is resting on a pile of books, and there is a lunch box next to Lucy.


(right side) Your choice of individual Peanuts characters. Each detailed statue stand approximately 5" high & 2.75" wide at the base and are something every Peanuts fan would be proud to own. These figures are tributes to the Peanuts creator, Mr. Charles Schulz, and select statues are also tributes to select professions such as Law Enforcement (Lucy wearing an oversized police officers outfit) and Rail Engineers (Charlie Brown in a train engineers outfit) or simply a tribute to the everyday troubles that Charlie Brown encounters, even with something simple like flying a kite. Currently we only have these three to choose from but please be sure to check back as there will be many more of the individual characters added in near future.

Except for the true Betty Boop fan most people have no idea that Betty Boop, created by Grim Natwick in the 1930's, originally debuted in the carton "Dizzy Dishes" as a cute little dog. Designed after a poodle with feminine legs and long ears she quickly developed into the innocent diva who is even more popular today and loved by fans ranging from 4 to 90+ years old. Her body was modeled after Mae West and her world famous lyric "I want to be loved by you, and nobody else but you, boo oop-a-doop" has been done by several different women, but Little-Ann Little and Mae Questel were the most important. Little Ann Little did the voice first and then went on the road with a Betty Boop act. The act consisted, in part of a drawing demonstration by Pauline Comanor, who drew Ann as Betty Boop and handed out the drawings to lucky audience members. Mae Questel did the voice until the series ended in 1939. She was quite adept at mimicry and could imitate anyone. She also, like Ann bore a striking resemblance to Betty. There were more then one hundred Betty Boop cartoons produced, including, "Betty Boop for President" (1932), "Bamboo Isle" (1932), and "Riding the Rails" (1938), which even received an Oscar nomination. Betty's popularity began to decline after her creators were forced to "clean her up" under the Hays Code. Gone were the short little skirts with her garter showing. Her hemline moved down to her knees, and her character took on more of a school teacher persona. Since it was the "cute" and "sexy" characteristics that made Betty popular, eliminating them meant the beginning of the end of Betty's popularity. During her prime, it was not uncommon to see big name musical guests making appearances in her cartoons. Some of these were: "I'll be glad when you're Dead, You Rascal You" (1932), featuring Louis Armstrong, "Minnie the Moocher" (1932), featuring Cab Calloway, and "Snow White" (1933) featuring Cab Calloway doing the song "Saint James Infirmary Blues".
